A famous bet was that between Sky Masterson and Nathan Detroit in the movie Guys and Dolls. The first bet was going to be how many strudels and cheesecakes were eaten in Mindy's diner, but, was changed to that he could take out any girl and Nathan chooses the virtuous Sister Sarah Brown. She is gradually won over by sky.
